About:
For the celebration of 400 years of porcelain production in Japan, the prefecture of Saga invited 16 international designers, to create 16 contemporary porcelain collections in Arita.
The high end collection from the Swiss designers Kueng-Caputo is produced by the Kin’emon Toen pottery, which are specialised in a technique of airbrush hand-painting called Fukitsuke.
Kueng Caputo and Kin’emon Toen have invented a surface covering that creates an optical illusion, a play of light and shadow, making the viewer question the edges of the object.
This collection got awarded with the Wallpaper 2017 Design award.
Porcelain is a ceramic material of the highest quality. Admired because of its translucence, it is the strongest and most durable ceramic material.
