What looks like a modern chopstick design has a deeper meaning to it.
One side would be used by you (the human), and the other side by the gods.
The side used by us is the square shaped bamboo side, the color side is for the gods.
Both ends of these chopsticks are thinner, the middle is thicker. This would be called a “divine meal together”
Founded in 1963 Yamachiku is producing bamboo chopsticks made by the thick Moso bamboo.
The bamboo trees are cut by professional foresters, helping to preserve the local ecosystem of the Kumamoto bamboo grove.
Bamboo is an extremely fast growing and therefore very sustainable material.
