Different then the traditional Tenugui, this scarf is 40cm longer and is the perfect length for a simple, light scarf.
The Tenugui is a traditional cotton woven towel.
In Japanese daily life the Tenugui towel finds many different purposes: Decoration on a wall or table, head cover, wrapping of presents, baby towel or many other variations.
The long sides are finished with a selvage, and the short sides are just cut and so soon show some fraying.
The Hirali Tenugui are dyed in a new technique called Roll-Printing, which allows a unique effect of a double side dye.
