Haneno Suzuki Shigeki Fujishiro

Paperworks exhibition

9 – 15 Juli 2026

Haldenbachstrasse 9, Zürich

Studio David Glaettli presents a two-person exhibition featuring Japanese artist Haneno Suzuki and designer Shigeki Fujishiro, both exploring the potential of paper through distinct approaches. Haneno Suzuki focuses on the textures, colours and processing techniques inherent in paper. Her work begins by layering sheets of paper one by one to form a single line. By weaving these lines together, she creates delicate compositions in which surface, structure and space intersect. Shigeki Fujishiro explores the balance between form and function through structural experimentation. For this exhibition, he presents a series of object-based works inspired by industrial ductwork, created using only paper and staples. Weaving paper and assembling paper: These two approaches meet around a shared material, revealing different aspects of paper’s character and potential. Often overlooked as an everyday and disposable medium, paper becomes the starting point for works that highlight its texture, colour and surprising depth. The exhibition will also feature GAME, an analogue game developed by Shigeki Fujishiro as part of his lifelong creative practice, alongside selected works and artist goods. Both artists will be present at the vernissage and available by appointment during the exhibition.

Japanproxy is supporting the exhibition with the remarkable SF collection for 2016.

Join us for the opening event on 10th of July, 17 – 20:00. Both artists will be present at the vernissage and available by appointment throughout the exhibition.
