1616 was the year Arita porcelain, Japan’s first porcelain, was fired and 2016 marks the 400th anniversary of this important event.
For the celebration of 400 years of porcelain production in Japan, the prefecture of Saga invited 16 international designers, to create 16 contemporary porcelain collections in Arita.
Congratulations to 2016/ and all team members working hard to make it happen, and of course congratulation to the Saga prefecture and the porcelain village Arita!
